Good question, have you considered the following.

1. God’s word clearly states that He as chose a people
2. God has made covenants (more than 1) with them
3. God has made numerous promises to Israel as a people
4. Paul tells us that we Christians are grafted in into the tree (God’s people)
5. God’s word never informed us that God chose a new people.
