i’m Jeffrey a Filipino Roman Catholic and registered social studies teacher. I’m impress to the holiness of this layman. Orthodox faith is the greatest treasure of Bulgaria and by the Balkan region. something that you must enrich and value with. I’m devoted to my faith, but the church authorities allows us to seek the intercessions of Orthodox saints. The moment I saw the video of this beggar for Christ in youtube, I envy your society my dear Bulgarians, you have a God centered people and you also have holy servants and monks. Here in the philippines, our society were infested by capitalism, liberalism, islamic insurgencies, secularism and among others. lastly I beg you people of Bulgaria to pray for me and also my family. thank you and God bless Bulgaria

Hi Jeffrey,
I think I understand what you mean. I lived in Holand about 2.5 years and I’ve experienced this society of liberalism, capitalism and secularism.
This globalization / secularization is also slowly crawling to Bulgaria and many of the people are secular, however they keep still to some traditions though many don’t understand the link of tradition to our Christian faith. The situation with secularism in Roman Catholic church unfortunately is also present and I think you already noticed that and this is very sad, because Roman Catholic church has opened its doors to the world in recent years and the ancient mark of Church aschetism seems to be rarely existing.
With above said, If you’re looking for a genuine non-secular faith that links to our Lord Jesus Christ try to go for a Holy Liturgy to an Orthodox Church if you have some near you. This is what I found in Wikipedia http://orthodoxwiki.org/Orthodoxy_in_the_Philippines
I’m pretty sure your search for truth and Internal spirituality will find your place home in Holy Orthodox Church.
With Love in Christ,
